Consultant Radiation Oncology

Job Description

Main duties and responsibilities:

Independently provide direct patient care in Radiation Oncology, (ward rounds, clinics, on-calls) Independently provide consultations to other specialties in the hospital.
Evaluate and manage patients referred for radiation therapy and treatment, which include initial assessment, recommendation of treatment, follow-up and management of treatment side effects. Participates in multidisciplinary clinics and conferences and other related activities.
Prescribed and administer radiotherapy dose to patients.
Perform intracavitary brachytherapy and verify the insertion.
Participate in the department/division administrative meetings.
Participate in the department/division educational meetings (journal club, tumor board, lectures, etc.) Participate in the department/division research activities.
To supervise the sub consultant physicians.
Participate in training and education of rotating residents and junior staff members.
Perform and over other duties as delegated by the chairman or division head.
Adhere strictly to all hospital policies and procedures.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Education

MBBS or MD degree with training in specialty and sub-specialty — E

Board Certification in Radiation Oncology — E

Fellowship in site specific – P

A registered member of the Saudi Board Council – E from an accredited institution – Essential
