Job Description

Main duties and responsibilities:
  • To provide high-standard patient care in accordance with the NOM mission, vision and values in Neurology within the Department of Medicine.
  • To provide inpatient care for the Neurology patients admitted to the hospital either as the MRP or as the covering physician during rest hours, weekends, holidays or vacations of the MRP, accepting the inconvenience associated with the patient needs.
  • To provide care to Neurology patients in the ambulatory care facility. The duration and frequency of this service is dictated by the needs and the regulations of the organization, the Department of Medicine and the Division of Neurology.
  • To provide Neurology consultations services to other divisions within the Department of Medicine and other Departments within tire organization during the regular working and the on-call hours,
  • To perform diagnostic and/or therapeutic interventions and procedures in patients with neurological disorders for which he/she has been granted specific privileges based on his/her training, qualifications, experience and skills.
  • To participate in interpreting and reporting the neurological procedure such as EEG, Evoked Potential and Nerve Conduction study, and to perform EMG.
  • To participate in the on-call coverage in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Division of Neurology, the Department of Medicine.
  • To actively participate in Quality improvement program of the department.
  • To provide close supervision of the clinical performance of subordinates and to provide them with a robe model especially those in training.
  • To supervise the Neurophysiology Technologists and train them in her/his field of experience.
  • To serve in divisional, departmental and organizational committees as appointed by the Head, Division of Neurology, Chairman, Department of Medicine or the Executive Management of the organization.
  • To participate in scientific research, contribute into the department educational activities and post­graduate training programs in Neurology or Internal Medicine as well as education for Neurophysiology

Education

Graduate from a medical school.

Successful completion of a structured accredited Residency Training in Neurology Subspecialty Fellowship Program.

Certification by the appropriate Specialty Board in the specialty of Neurology approved by the Saudi Council of Health Specialties.

PhD degree in Neurophysiology.

Work Experience

The total experience in training and post-training should be equal to, or more than seven (7) years. Superior or above average performance in areas of patient care and teaching/training activities. Productivity in medical research merits strong consideration. Publications in peer reviewed journals are highly desirable.

Work experience in epilepsy comprehensive center recognized by International body and has experience in teaching.
