Job Description

Work as Associate Consultant Internal Medicine under the supervision of the Internal Medical Consultants. Follow all hospital administrative and medical policies and procedures. Any other assignments given by the Supervisor or the Management.

Duties and responsibilities:

Looks after all internal medicine patients admitted from OPD or ER, and related sub specialties (nephrology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, pulmonology, neurology, psychiatry).

Supervise the specialist internists and follow up with them the laboratory, radiology and other consultant orders for each patient.

To help in:

  • Covering internal medicine clinic/department in other Mouwasat Health Facilities.
  • Accompany patients need to be transferred by ambulance to other health facilities.
  • Covering OPD clinics when needed.

Perform some invasive procedures when needed supervision of the consultant.

Participating in internal medicine department meetings case presentation, journal club, x-ray meeting and code blue committee.

Attending continuous education, infection control and performance improvement programs to keep updating with the current practice.

Provides full explanation regarding the plan of care and the available treatment options to the patient and care giver in a simple language.

Encourages the patient and care giver to participate in taking decisions affecting the course of treatment.

Provides educational materials related to the case for the patient and care giver.

Plans the educational session with the patient and family after checking their willingness to learn and their learning preferences.

Actively participate & involve in SCFHS Postgraduate trainees’ education and training in accordance with the Policies of the Academic & Training Affairs Department & the standards of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.

Excel in Teaching, Training, Formative Assessment, and Mentorship Skills.

Committed to Perform Training, Education, Mentorship, and Supervisory Responsibilities for SCFHS trainees, residents, and fellows.

Facilitate and Supervise Trainees, Research and Scholarly Work.

Adequately seek Opportunities for Development in Postgraduate Clinical Teaching, Formative Assessment, and Mentorship.

Job Requirements

Qualification:

MD from recognized university

Master degree in Internal Medicine from recognized university.

Current Medical license.

Valid SCFHS license and valid BCLS certification.

Experience requirement:

Two (2) years experience in a reputed hospital.

Customer service focused.

Capable to work under pressure.

Intermediate computer skills (Windows and Microsoft)

English language and awareness of arabic language.

Familiar with islamic and arabic culture.
