Job Description: 

Within the mission, vision and values of the hospital, the specialist plastic surgeon will strive for excellence in the surgical management of all patients ensuring patient safety and patient satisfaction. The quality of care provided will meet the standards of the Joint Commission.

Responsible to : Section Head, Division of Plastic Surgery

Duties and responsibilities

  • He is governed by the responsibilities outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws.
  • Provide and promote a high standard quality of plastic surgery surgical care.
  • Operate in the OR within his approved privileges.
  • Expected to be present in the working vicinity during normal working hours.
  • To be available for contact at any time while in town.
  • Works under the supervision of a consultant and the Section Head, Division of Plastic Surgery.
  • Allowed certain aspects of primary care responsibilities within his approved privileges. These are defined and supervised by the senior consultant and approved by the Section Head, Division of Plastic Surgery.
  • Carries assigned specific duties within the Division of Plastic Surgery with restricted responsibilities as requested by his immediate senior and approved by the Section Head, Division of Plastic Surgery.
  • Has no admission privilege.
  • Participate in training and education of his junior staff.
  • Attend and participate in all plastic surgery division academic activities and researches.
  • Attend and participate in all division meetings.
  • Attend and participate in the Department of Surgery staff meetings.
  • Actively involved and participate in the ongoing quality management program.
  • During on-call, all admissions and discharges are to be seen by him in the ER.
  • Meet the CME requirements of Saudi specialization.
  • Ensure approval of proper TRA by the Chairman before going on leave.
  • Maintains the spirit of the teamwork in the Division of Plastic Surgery.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements: (P-Preferred, E-Essential, B-Beneficial)
  • Education: {E} Graduate from a medical school recognized by the hospital. Successful completion of a structured, accredited residency training program in concerned specialty acceptable to the hospital.
  • Work Experience: {E} A structured, accredited residency training program in Plastic Surgery acceptable to the hospital. English Language Skills: Level |
  • Computer Skills: Basic
